Jaguars News: 3/20

Ok allow me to explain, this is likely going to be a daily post, at the very least until the college pro days are over, but more likely until draft day. In these daily news articles I will post any and all information I learn about the Jaguars as they continue to scout and prepare for the NFL Draft on April 28. The posts will be updated sporadically throughout the day with the time in which the new information is found. For example:

2:35 PM ET – A source tells me that the Jaguars sent every scout they have to watch Maurice Jones-Drew do a cartwheel at his pro day at UCLA today.

While I spent most of the last couple days allowing for my site to move over to its new home at Bloguin, I was still able to pull together a couple little bits of information. There’s not going to be any times on this post because it’s all coming at you at once. Ready?

Bo Marchionte of NFLDraftBible is reporting that the Jaguars are scheduled to meet with Jacksonville State CB T.J. Heath on April 19. Heath is a 6’0, 172 cornerback who might also make a transition to free safety due to his size. His pro day is April 7 and will be important to see whether or not he has the athleticism to warrant the use of a draft pick.

Multiple sources have reported that scouts from all 32 NFL teams were in attendance for both the Virginia Tech and the Stanford pro days. Among the prospects from both schools, Stanford FB Owen Marecic and Virginia Tech QB Tyrod Taylor are players that the Jaguars have shown prior interest in. Aaron Wilson of National Football Post reported that Taylor is scheduled to have a private meeting with the Jaguars sometime between now and the draft.

The Jaguars did not, however, choose to attend the California (PA), Albany State or Montana State pro days. California (PA)’s Pro Day drew scouts from the Packers and Eagles, but none other. The most notable prospect from the school is QB Josh Portis; however, Portis choose not to participate in the pro day, having participated in another school’s pro day on the day prior. Albany State drew scouts from the Giants, Seahawks and Colts.

That’s all I got for today, but tune in all day tomorrow for updates as I hear them. Also, if you’re interested in reading articles from the older version of, they have all been moved over to the archives here. The draft interests page has also been moved, but the links are currently not functional. Give me a little bit of time and I should have them up and firing in no time. Thanks for stopping by.
