The Jaguars confirmed on their official twitter account that CB David Jones and DB Tyron Brackenridge have been signed to new contracts with the team. With just hours until the CBA is set to expire and the lockout is set to officially begin, the Jaguars have prevented the two players’ time with the team from ending.
Tyron Brackenridge will enter his 5th season in the NFL in 2011 and his 3rd season as a member of the Jaguars. His first two years were with the Kansas City Chiefs. Brackenridge offers experience at both cornerback and safety. He was set to be a restricted free agent this offseason.
David Jones was acquired in the trade that sent Reggie Nelson to Cincinnati. Jones will also be entering his 5th season in 2011 and it will be his 2nd with the Jaguars. He spent the first three seasons of his career as a member of the Bengals. He was set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason.
The length and amounts for the contracts has to be released.
