Potential Jaguars undrafted free agency targets

Mark HerzlichDuring the normal offseason, Gene Smith would be busy getting in contact with several players that did not hear their name called during the NFL Draft this weekend. He would be trying to sway these players into signing with the Jaguars as undrafted free agents.

Unfortunately, this is far from the normal offseason. Due to the lockout, the Jaguars are unable to get in contact with and ultimately sign these players. However, there will still be undrafted free agency and it will likely start as soon as the new league year starts, causing it to most likely coincide with veteran free agency. 

There is a possibility that the rules regarding the beginning of the new league year will separate rookie free agency from veteran free agency, but it’s very possible that there will be a bizarre free agency period with veterans and undrafted players alike. When that period happens, expect the Jaguars to sign 15-20 players as they usually do.
