Marqise Lee adds more speed to Jaguars’ offense

Free agency may have been targeted at bringing in defensive players, but so far, the Jaguars have been all about offense. Blake Bortles, selected third overall by the Jags, could provide the team with a franchise passer. With the 39th overall pick, the Jags are trying to give Bortles a weapon by bringing in former USC wide receiver Marqise Lee.

Lee, who is a bit small at 6’0″ and only 192 pounds, has speed and agility on his side. That speed gives him the potential to hit a home run every time he touches the ball, but it does come at a cost. Being so small, it’s hard to imagine Lee taking big hits over the middle well.

Still, a quick look at Lee should give fans some optimism moving forward. For an offense that has struggled to move the ball, the presence of a top, young receiver should give the team a boost, particularly when opponents are worried about locking down Cecil Shorts III.
